Dawgs Moving on to Semifinals for Seventh Straight Season

Dawgs Extend Win Streak to Eight Games

The NJ Dawgs needed to overcome two four-run deficits to defeat the Sussex Storm at Free Union Field Sunday. The quarterfinal match-up was the fourth time the two teams have faced each other this season. The Storm scored four runs in the top of the first from two fielding errors. The Dawgs scored two runs in the bottom half of the inning on back-to-back singles by Mike Grace and Dylan Harlos, scoring Tyler Branham and Bert Tice. The Dawgs tied the game at four in the fourth inning on a fielder's choice and a double steal. The Storm scored two runs in the sixth and seventh innings to go ahead 8-4. The Dawgs batted around in the bottom of the seventh, scoring seven runs to take an 11-8 lead.

Harlos pitched the first six innings of the game. He gave up six unearned runs, five hits, fours walks and struck out three. Tyler Goff picked up the win in pitching the last three inning. Goff struck out six batters, walked two, and gave up two runs on four hits.

The Dawgs collected 15 hits as a team with Bert, Branham, Randy Squier, and Jeff Meyers having a multi-hit game. Harlos, Meyers, and Tyler Coltelli had multiple RBI in the victory.

The Dawgs will make their seventh straight trip to the semifinals on August 11 when they host the Newark Astros at Free Union Field in Great Meadows.
