The Dawgs lost game 1 and won game 2 versus the North Jersey Sox Sunday at Free Union Field. Nico Nese made his Dawgs debut in a rainy game 1. he gave up 4 hits and 3 earned runs over 3 innings. Joe Kropa returned to the Dawgs and pitched the final 3 frames, surrendering 3 earned runs on 5 hits. Gianni Marano and Mike Moore led the Dawgs with 2 runs scored each.

The Dawgs won game 2 on the back of stellar pitching from Bert Tice and Marano. Tice pitched the first 5 innings, giving up 1 run on 3 hits with 3 strikeouts. The Dawgs led 2-1 heading into the 7th until Mike Grace hit a bases loaded double followed by a fielder's choice by Jeff Latawiec to expand the lead to 4 runs. Marano closed out the game, striking out 3 of the 6 batters he faced. Tyler Branham went 2 for 2 with a single and a double, 2 walks, 2 stolen bases and 2 runs scored. The Dawgs will face the NJ Tribe Sunday at Free Union Field in Great Meadows.
