Tice Tosses Shutout, Dawgs Rally to Sweep Double Header

Robert Tice threw a 3-hit shutout in game 1 against the Tribe in Great Meadows yesterday. Tice walked 3 and struckout 5 en route to a 8-0 Dawgs win. The Dawgs opened up the scoring in the first inning when Mike Grace followed a double by Tice with an RBI single. The Dawgs scored again in the second, fourth, and sixth inning puncuated by a 2-run homer by Gianna Marano.

The Dawgs came from behind to win game 2 of the double header. Trailing 7-3 after 4 innings, the Dawgs rallied and scored 6 unanswered runs through the final 3 frames. The Dawgs totaled 14 hits in game 2 led by Jeff Latawiec who hit 2 doubles, 2 singles, scored 2 runs and added 2 RBI. Tyler Branham and Gianni Marano combined out of the bullpen to hold the Tribe to 1 unearned run and 4 hits over 5 innings in relief of starter Ian D.-W. who gave up like, a lot of runs. The Dawgs will host the Bergen Cyclones at Free Union Field for a 10:00 double header in Great Meadows Sunday.
