Dawgs on 5-game Win Streak

The Dawgs swept the Boonton Bombers in a double header Sunday in Great Meadows. The Dawgs won the first game 6-1 led by 4 RBI by Jeff Latawiec. The Dawgs scored in the first inning for the 9th time in 12 games. Joe Wiz knocked in Tyler Branham who led the inning off with a single. Bert Tice pitched his second complete game in as many weeks, striking out 10 and surrendering 1 run on 7 hits over 7 innings.

The Dawgs took a 2-0 lead in game 2, but the Bombers tied the game in the bottom of the 1st. The Dawgs broke the tie in the top of the 6th when Wiz knocked in Branham again on a bases loaded single. Joe Wiz got the win, pitching 3 innings and giving up 1 hit. Gianni Morano picked up a 2 inning save. The Dawgs will play a single 9-inning game at Allamuchy Field against the Sussex Storm at 10:00 Sunday.
