The Dawgs earned their first win of the season on Sunday, defeating the Bloomfield Bombers 5-3. The Dawgs took the lead in the sixth on a two-run homer by Ian Denzer-Weiler.
Bloomfield opened up the scoring in the second inning on a fielder's choice.
John Minetti was the winning pitcher for the NJ Dawgs in his first start of the season. He pitched five innings, striking out eight and allowing two earned runs. Jeff Latawiec picked up a six out save in his pitching debut.
The Dawgs racked up eight hits as a team. Ian led the team with 3 RBI and six total bases.
