Dawgs' Bats Struggle vs Storm

Little run support in Minetti's strong start

Dawgs fall to 7-10

The Dawgs were unable to get the bats going Sunday at Free Union Field and were swept by the Sussex Storm by scores of 3-1 and 9-0.

All-star selection John Minetti (4-3, 1.54 ERA, 66 Ks) started game one and gave up two unearned runs while walking five and striking out eight.

Jeff Latawiec, Tyler Coolyeti, and Rob Giglio collected the Dawgs three hits, with Giglio knocking in Latawiec in the fourth inning.

Tyler Colorado started game two for the Dawgs. He surrendered six earned runs and struck out four. Coolyeti came in and threw 2 2/3 innings, giving up two hits and striking out two.

Latawiec, Randy Squire, and Ian D.-W. each singled for the Dawgs with Giglio adding a double in the losing effort. 

The Dawgs are scheduled to play a home double header in Liberty on 7/22 vs the NY Elite Hitmen starting at 10:00 am.
