Seventh Seeded Dawgs Knock Off Second Seeded Bombers

Dawgs 8 hits and strong pitching power playoff win.

Dawgs Advance to Sixth Straight Semi-Final

John Minetti and the NJ Dawgs are heading to their sixth straight semi-final appearance in the ABA after beating the second seeded Bloomfield Bombers 3-1 at Wrights Field on Sunday. The Dawgs collected eight hits led by Tyler Coolyeti who went two for three with a double. Tyler Colorado followed his engagement this week by stealing three bases and scoring two of the Dawgs runs while running for Mike Grace and starting pitcher John Minetti. Catcher Randy Squire, DH Rob Giglio, and Grace had the Dawgs three RBI.

Minetti turned in another stellar start for the NJ Dawgs. He pitched 8 2/3 innings, striking out nine and giving up four hits and four walks. Coolyeti earned a two-out save. The Dawgs will likely be on the road for the semi-final game as they continue their quest to repeat last year's championship win in the ABA's Elite Wood League.
